Kamala Harris urges Dems to 'be ruthless' with power after midterms, demands Trump accountability

Latest News FOX NEWS POLITIKOOL · LATEST NEWS

Within a day of Democrats winning control of Congress in the 2026 midterms, three of the party's best-known figures weighed in on X and elsewhere about what the majority should do with it. Kamala Harris, who served as vice president, pressed elected Democrats at every level to use all available leverage, and to be "ruthless" about it, in two areas: delivering economic relief to working families and holding the Trump administration answerable for what she called deep-seated corruption. She said voters had rejected the White House's corruption, incompetence and callousness, along with Republican leaders who went along with it, according to Fox News.

Hillary Clinton, the former secretary of state who lost the 2016 presidential race to Donald Trump, framed the result as a demand for accountability and affordability. She wrote that crimes against the people and the Constitution must be answered for, and that abuses of the past two years must not be repeated. She also said families should thrive rather than merely survive, and declared that the post-Trump era starts now.

Her husband, former President Bill Clinton, struck a gentler note than either woman. He also urged that the national debt be brought under control.
