Privacy

Last updated October 2, 2026.

PolitiKool is published in the United States. This page says what we collect when you read the site, subscribe by email or write to the editor, why, who else is involved, and how to reach us about it. We collect as little as we can.

Reading the site

No cookies and no account. Reading PolitiKool sets no cookies and asks for no sign-in.

Our own measurement. To understand what is read, each page reports to our server that it was opened, how long it was on screen and how far down it was scrolled, with the address of the page you came from and whether you are on a phone or a desktop. To count readers rather than page loads, your network address and browser type are combined into a one-way code that changes every day and cannot be turned back into either; the address itself is not stored. No advertising or analytics company receives any of this. Our hosting provider, Railway, keeps ordinary server logs, including network addresses, for a short time to run and secure the service.

Fonts and images are served from our own site, not from a third party.

Posts embedded from other services

Some stories embed posts from X, Instagram, Truth Social or YouTube. YouTube videos use YouTube's privacy-enhanced player, which sets no cookie until you press play. Posts from X, Instagram and Truth Social are shown by those services' own code, which can set their cookies and see that you loaded the post; their privacy policies apply. If your browser's time zone places you in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, those posts are shown only after you choose to load them, and you can open them on the service instead.

Subscribing by email

If you subscribe, we keep your email address, the time you subscribed and the page you subscribed from, to send you PolitiKool by email and for nothing else. We do not sell or share the list. Every message carries an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe here at any time, which removes your address from the list.

Notifications on your phone

If you allow notifications from PolitiKool on your phone, your browser gives us a delivery address for them, which we keep only to send them. Turning notifications off in your browser or phone settings ends that.

Writing to the editor

What you send through the contact form, including your email address if you give one, is kept so the editor can read it, check a reported error against the record and reply. A correction we make is noted on the story without naming who reported it.

How long we keep things

Reading measurements are kept as daily totals. Email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Messages to the editor are kept while they are being handled and for our records of corrections.

Your rights

Wherever you are, you can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to its use, by writing to the editor at editor@politikool.com or through the contact page. If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another place with a data protection law, you have those rights under it, and you may also complain to your local data protection authority. We keep nothing that would let us identify a reader from their reading alone, so such requests usually concern an email address or a message.

Children

PolitiKool is written for adults and does not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
