Texas Democrat Confuses The Communist Manifesto For Mein Kampf In Embarrassing Fundraising Pitch

Latest News DAILY CALLER POLITIKOOL · LATEST NEWS

A Texas congressional race took an awkward turn Wednesday when Democratic nominee Katy Padilla Stout accused her Republican opponent, gun YouTuber Brandon Herrera, of defending ownership of Mein Kampf. Her X post, which asked for money through an ActBlue link, carried a photo of Herrera holding a book. The book was actually the Communist Manifesto, and Herrera was quick to say so. Stout took the post down shortly afterward, according to Daily Caller.

Herrera answered by telling her she had it wrong and by sharing his own donation link, aimed at people who want a candidate able to read. He then posted a screenshot of the exchange and asked why she deleted it, suggesting a schoolteacher should be able to read the title of a book in her own picture. He also tied the episode to what he called the Big Bend fiasco, saying she was either a liar or incompetent, and that either one disqualifies her.

Herrera further noted that Stout had told the podcast Mission: Texas the district covers 26 counties. Under the 2025 map it has 27. He added that she would have an unpleasant morning when his third-quarter fundraising numbers came out.
