Fauci Wanted Trump Impeached Over Border Wall, Misled Public About Ebola Vaccine, Diary Entries Reveal

Latest News DAILY CALLER POLITIKOOL · LATEST NEWS

Newly released diary entries from Anthony Fauci, the longtime National Institutes of Health official, show him holding sharply partisan views and voicing private doubts about an Ebola vaccine that he praised in public. Senator Rand Paul, who chairs the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee, made the entries from 2015 through 2019 public on Wednesday as part of his inquiry into the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic and Fauci's part in discouraging discussion of it, according to Daily Caller.

In January 2019, Fauci wrote that President Donald Trump, who was demanding $5 billion for a border wall, "should be impeached," though he noted Democrats feared doing so would energize Trump's supporters.

The Ebola entries date to 2015, when the World Health Organization touted its vaccine candidate as up to 100% effective. Fauci confided that the trial was poorly designed and its results fell short of statistical significance. Even so, according to Paul's staff, he spoke favorably of the vaccine on CNN, BBC and PBS and to the New York Times. He reasoned that open criticism would hand the press a story and strain relations between the Department of Health and Human Services and the WHO.
