From Democratic insider to party exile: Lindy Li isn’t ruling out another run for Congress

Lindy Li, once a leading Democratic fundraiser who brought in millions of dollars for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, has left the party and says a return to elected politics is not off the table. She changed her registration during the 2024 campaign after warnings about Biden's decline went unheeded, and she has a memoir, "Unburdened," coming out. Her future is uncertain, but she keeps imagining what comes next, according to Fox News.

Asked about it, Li sketched a scenario in which a President Rubio phones her in two or four years and a Pennsylvania seat opens. She said she is not campaigning for it, but if the chance fell to her, she would take it, adding that few people could do better.

Her drive goes back to childhood. Her relatives left China to escape the Communist government, which she says killed her great-grandfather. After a short stretch in Sheffield, England, she joined her parents in New England at five, and her physician father's jobs took them to Pennsylvania. At Princeton she held the class presidency four years in a row, the only woman to do so, campaigning with candy and sushi promises. Her goal was the Senate.
