Ilhan Omar's husband snaps over rumors she fled US after federal immigration fraud raid

Representative Ilhan Omar, a Minnesota Democrat, has not appeared in public since Homeland Security Investigations agents searched her Washington, D.C., rental home on Monday as part of a criminal fraud inquiry into her immigration paperwork, Fox News Digital first reported. Her husband, political consultant Tim Mynett, has been seen around the house, and he brushed off a question about rumors that she left the country. He complained that reporters were irritating the neighbors, and he earlier said he has "no concerns" about what investigators might turn up.

Federal authorities reportedly took her cellphone and passport during the search. Reporters say her office had her birth year in a state legislative library record changed from 1981 to 1982, and that version stayed in place throughout her Minnesota House service and for several months after she reached Congress. The date matters because she reportedly became a citizen automatically when her father was naturalized, at an age said to be 17. Had she been born in 1981, she would have been 18, which could put the validity of her citizenship in doubt.

A congressional staffer was also seen bringing Burger King meals into the home while security watched the door.
