“The Trump administration has long reminded me of ‘The Lion King’’: Joe Scarborough answers reader questions

MS NOW host Joe Scarborough used a reader Q&A to argue that Americans, not a single political savior, must repair the country, and his co-host Mika Brzezinski addressed what her late father would advise Democrats on foreign policy.

Responding to a reader who compared the Trump administration to "The Lion King," with Donald Trump as the villain Scar, Scarborough said no hero will emerge from the wilderness; the hero is the voters themselves. He rejected Trump's repeated claim that only he can fix the nation's problems. Asked about threats to send troops or ICE agents into Chicago and other Democratic-leaning cities, he said Trump sees violence carried out in his name as strength, and urged vigilance through the election and the rest of the term. To a Seminole County Democrats volunteer, he recommended old-fashioned grassroots work, recalling how door-knocking, yard signs, phone calls and rides to the polls carried his first congressional run at age 29.

Brzezinski said her father, a lifelong opponent of Soviet aggression, would be offended by Trump's abandonment of Ukraine and would have warned against invading Iran.
