Trump Hits 4 States in 5 Days in Final Push to November Midterms

President Donald Trump has launched an intensive campaign swing ahead of the November midterm elections, visiting four states over five days with the vote four weeks away. The travel is aimed at energizing Republican supporters in elections described as crucial, and the president is leaning on the economy as his main argument to voters, according to NBC News.

NBC News correspondent Gabe Gutierrez reported on the schedule for TODAY on Oct. 6, 2026. According to NBC News, Trump is pursuing what amounts to a full-out effort to turn out Republicans, with rallies for the party's candidates serving as the centerpiece of the final stretch before Election Day.

The president has also shifted course on two issues in ways NBC News characterizes as uncommon for him. He has reversed his position on mail-in voting, and he has changed his stance on who will foot the bill for contentious political advertisements that focus on him. Those reversals, along with the economic pitch, mark the main themes of his travels as the campaign enters its last month.
