Trump says ‘zero chance’ he’s replacing chief of staff Susie Wiles

President Donald Trump said Friday that he has no plans to replace White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, telling CNN's Kristen Holmes there is "zero chance" of it. The denial answers a Politico story from earlier in the week, which described the president as polling allies about Wiles and speculating aloud about who might take her place, according to CNN · The Independent.

Trump called that story fabricated and asserted that his staff had told Politico, before it ran, that the facts were wrong. The president thereby rejected the premise of the Politico account entirely, framing it as untrue rather than merely overstated. He spoke warmly of Wiles, describing her as smart and tough, and noted that she had recently been through a great deal with her surgery for breast cancer. Wiles has since announced that she is cancer free.

Trump ended his remarks by insisting that Wiles is in her job now and will stay on for a long time.
