Trump Will Remind Voters Of His Strongest Issue In Georgia Speech Friday

Latest News DAILY WIRE · PBS NEWSHOUR POLITIKOOL · LATEST NEWS

President Donald Trump is set to give a Friday speech at Dalton Municipal Airport in Georgia centered on illegal immigration, the Tren de Aragua gang, and the killing of Laken Riley, a White House official told the Daily Wire. The appearance is meant to bolster Republican midterm candidates Rick Jackson and Mike Collins, and it returns to the issue that helped Trump win in 2016 and 2024, according to Daily Wire · PBS NewsHour.

White House spokeswoman Lauren Bis credited the president with sealing the border and breaking up the gang, and she blamed former President Joe Biden for letting it enter the country and harm Americans such as Riley, a Georgia nursing student. She also said Trump's crackdown has helped bring about the largest drop in violent crime in the nation's history. Census Bureau figures show Dalton is nearly 55% Hispanic and about 29% foreign-born.

The White House says the Homeland Security Task Force, which Trump set up on his first day back in office, has arrested 1,296 Tren de Aragua members from January 20, 2025 through October 8, 2026, with many of those arrests in Georgia. Among them are Jared Adonay Cruz Rivera, picked up in April, and three others detained by ICE that month.
