Vance takes aim at soft-on-crime Dems as GOP faces uphill midterm battle: ‘Lost their minds’

Vice President JD Vance used a Texas campaign stop to argue that Democrats cannot be trusted on public safety, as Republicans confront a difficult road in November's midterms with living costs climbing for Americans. In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital on Tuesday, Vance pointed to recent Somali gang violence in Minnesota as evidence that Democrats have "lost their minds," and said voters who choose them would be welcoming criminals into their communities.

Vance spoke after a rally in Tyler, Texas, roughly 100 miles east of Dallas, where Vance backed Republican state Attorney General Ken Paxton. Paxton is locked in a close U.S. Senate contest with Democratic state Rep. James Talarico. Vance said Republicans share basic principles, including security for everyone and keeping violent criminals out of the country.

Vance also questioned Talarico's recent two-week absence from campaigning, calling it odd and bizarre given that October is the heart of the race. Vance added a hope that Talarico's health is fine, but said Texans should consider whether the candidate has the stamina for the job.
