WATCH LIVE: Trump speaks at rally along Arizona-Nevada border

President Donald Trump is touring Republican-friendly ground ahead of the Nov. 3 midterms, which will decide control of Congress, with Wednesday stops in Arizona and Montana. The trip follows appearances earlier in the week in Ohio and Alaska. New White House press secretary Katie Zacharia described the schedule of long rallies as a "midterm blitz." The aim is to limit anticipated GOP losses in a year when the party holding the White House typically gives up seats, according to PBS NewsHour · MS NOW.

In Bullhead City, Arizona, Trump is backing Rep. Andy Biggs, a longtime ally who helped him try to stop House certification of his 2020 defeat and once led the House Freedom Caucus. Biggs is challenging Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs, who edged out Republican Kari Lake in the last governor's contest. Trump then heads to Montana's 1st District to support Aaron Flint, a radio host and Army veteran who worked for retiring Rep. Ryan Zinke. Flint faces Democrat Sam Forstag, a union leader and smokejumper.

The travel comes as Republicans pull money from some House contests and Democrats seek funds for candidates once seen as long shots. Trump contends with weak approval numbers, higher costs and the Iran war.
