Frustrated Trump yells ‘shut up’ at protester just minutes into final sprint of midterm rallies

President Donald Trump berated a heckler at a Friday midterm rally in Daytona Beach, Florida, telling the man to "shut up" several times and calling him a loser before security escorted him out as the crowd booed. What the man was yelling is unclear. The episode is one of many protester confrontations at Trump's rallies as Election Day, three days away, approaches, according to The Independent.

The Independent reports similar scenes earlier in October. In Ohio on October 12, a woman wearing a shirt demanding release of the Epstein files was grabbed by nearby attendees, and Trump described protesters as paid agents of the left. In Kansas, he suggested a heckler's parents disapproved of him and urged supporters to vote to oust such people. In North Carolina on October 20, he likened hecklers to rioters in France. Six days afterward in Mississippi, a man shouted a crude insult about a ballroom, and Trump told him to go home.

Polls suggest Republicans may face heavy losses, with voters unhappy about living costs and the Iran war, now eight months old. A Reuters-Ipsos poll this month found only 31 percent of Americans approving of Trump, the lowest ever recorded in that survey.
