‘I will not comment on his anatomy’: Ohio Republicans buzz about Trump’s analysis of a senator’s body

Ohio Republicans turned President Donald Trump's repeated praise of Senator Jon Husted's physique into a running joke at a Darke County GOP hog roast in western Ohio, where about 300 people gathered. The episode shows how Trump's habit of commenting on politicians' looks has surfaced in a closely watched Senate race against Democrat Sherrod Brown, according to CNN.

At a Kentucky rally on Saturday, Trump described inspecting Husted's shoulders, feet, hands and jawline, saying a pat on the shoulder felt like steel. He had earlier made similar remarks in Youngstown after learning that Husted played football at the University of Dayton, which won the Division III title in 1989. Husted acknowledged the chatter with a laugh and used his athletic past to urge supporters toward the "fourth quarter" of the campaign.

Senator Bernie Moreno, who defeated Brown two years ago, said he would not remark on Husted's anatomy the way the president had, but called his colleague a very good senator. State Auditor Keith Faber, running for attorney general, noted that Husted was a better legislator than athlete.
