Meanwhile, they are having trouble in Maine, Michigan and, to a lesser degree, New Hampshire, where the contests are tighter than a year ago anyone would have predicted, according to CNN.
Iowa, another double-digit Trump state, is nearly tied. A new CNN poll gives Republican Rep. Ashley Hinson 45% and state Sen. Josh Turek, the Democrat, 43%, while the same survey shows Democrats up 6 points in Ohio. Trump's approval is higher in Iowa, at 41% to 42%, than in Ohio, at 36% to 38%. Hinson's backers also seem more enthusiastic than those of Ohio Sen. Jon Husted.
In Maine, Sen. Susan Collins is within the margin of error of Troy Jackson, a Democrat whose favorability is negative in several polls. In Michigan, Abdul El-Sayed leads Republican Mike Rogers in some surveys but not others, and he draws very few Republican votes. In New Hampshire, Rep. Chris Pappas leads John E.
